AGFA DIGITAL IMAGER DRYSTAR 5301 ™

The imaging plate( IP) is a new and flexible X-ray detector for the CR system which uses the conventional medical X-ray imaging system and can be employed as a cover for the screen/ film system. The IP is made by densely applying patches of inorganic chargers called photostimulable phosphor onto a polyester film.

In reckoned Radiography, when imaging plates are exposed toX-rays or gamma shafts, the energy of the incoming radiation is stored in a special phosphor subcaste. A technical machine known as a scanner is also used to read out the idle image from the plate by stimulating it with a veritably finely concentrated ray.

Introduced in the 1980s by Fuji Film Medical Systems, reckoned radiography (CR) was originally limited to a many select veterinary sodalities and specialty private veterinary practices because of high cost. As technology has developed, more and more veterinary physicians utilized have replaced conventional film- screen systems with CR.
